Our Equipment & Why It Matters

Professional-grade equipment matched to each surface — not a rented gas washer from a big-box store.

Our Equipment

Why Equipment Quality Matters in Charleston

Charleston’s exterior cleaning conditions are more demanding than most cities. Between Gloeocapsa magma algae on roofs, salt-film buildup on coastal properties, and heavy Spartina pollen seasons, a standard consumer-grade pressure washer can’t do the job properly — and in many cases, using the wrong equipment causes more damage than the grime it’s removing.

At Lowcountry Pressure Washing, every piece of equipment we run is commercial-grade and purpose-selected for the surface type it’s used on. Here’s what we bring to each job and why it matters for the quality of your results.

💧

Soft Wash Delivery System

Our soft-wash rig delivers cleaning solution at under 500 PSI through calibrated tips that apply an even, consistent coat across siding, roofs, and stucco. This is not a garden sprayer with bleach — it’s a purpose-built system that controls dilution ratio, application volume, and dwell time precisely.

Used for: House siding, roofs, stucco, painted wood, historic surfaces, fences

Commercial Pressure Washer (3,000–4,000 PSI)

For hard surfaces — driveways, sidewalks, pool decks, pavers, and parking areas — we use a commercial-grade hot/cold pressure washer with adjustable PSI. Higher GPM (gallons per minute) means faster, more thorough cleaning with less time on each section, which prevents the streaking and uneven results that come from consumer machines.

Used for: Concrete driveways, brick pavers, sidewalks, pool decks, parking lots, dumpster pads

Surface Cleaner Attachments

Instead of using a straight wand tip on flatwork (which leaves visible lines and uneven cleaning), we use commercial surface cleaner heads — rotating nozzle housings that produce consistent, streak-free results across driveways and sidewalks in a fraction of the time.

Used for: All concrete and paver cleaning

Biodegradable Cleaning Solutions

Our cleaning chemistry is biodegradable and plant-safe at working dilution. The active ingredient breaks down organic growth — algae, mold, mildew — at the cellular level, which is why soft-washed surfaces stay clean 3–4 times longer than surfaces cleaned with pressure alone. All runoff is managed to protect Charleston’s tidal creeks and marsh ecosystems.

Used for: All soft-wash applications

🪜

Extended-Reach Wands & Access

Multi-story homes and commercial buildings require extended-reach wands and telescoping poles to clean upper stories, soffits, and gutter faces safely from ground level — without ladders leaning against freshly cleaned surfaces or damaging gutters.

Used for: 2–3 story homes, commercial buildings, gutter brightening

DIY Rental vs. Professional Equipment

A rented consumer pressure washer from a hardware store typically runs 2,000–2,500 PSI at 2–2.5 GPM with a standard wand tip. It can clean a concrete pad, but it will streak flatwork, damage siding, strip paint, force water behind vinyl panels, and void shingle warranties if used on a roof. Our equipment is built for the job — and more importantly, we know which equipment to use where.
